Who makes your fragrances?

We do! Everything is handmade in-house in small batches. Nothing is outsourced. We create, pack, and send it off to you personally.

What makes Nighttide different?

We create fragrances for kindred spirits drawn to the unique and nostalgic. Think shadowy scents of 80's and 90's subcultures and wistful, atmospheric scents.

Finding Your Fragrance

How do I choose a scent?

Start with the fragrance notes in each product description. Look for notes you already love, or follow your curiosity toward something unexpected. Fragrance is personal, and there's no single right way to find your favorite.

Will a fragrance smell the same on everyone?

Not necessarily. Skin chemistry, temperature, and time can influence how a fragrance develops. Give a scent time to settle on your skin before deciding how it feels to you.

How long will my fragrance last?

Wear time varies with the fragrance, application, skin, and environment. Some notes linger close to the skin and are softer, while others make a bolder entrance and lasting exit.

I can't smell my perfume after wearing it! Why?

Olfactory fatigue is real! it's also known as nose blindness or olfactory adaptation. It's a temporary condition where your brain stops noticing a constant, familiar scent because your olfactory receptor neurons become desensitized to continuous stimulation. (It's caused by your evolutionary shield; your brain is hardwired to filter out non-threatening background smells so it can stay alert for new or dangerous environmental changes.)
Keep in mind, even though you cannot smell your perfume anymore, people around you can still smell it clearly!

Using & Caring for Your Fragrance

How should I use my fragrance?

Follow the directions provided with your product. A little can go a long way in some cases, so start lightly and build to your preference.

How should I store my fragrance?

Keep your fragrance tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

Are all of your products skin-friendly and safe?

Yes! All of our products are free of phthalates, parabens, synthetic dyes, and formaldehyde.
All are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. We do not test on animals, and we do not work with companies that use animal testing. All products are tested on staff, family, and friends!

My skin is sensitive; will any products cause irritation?

Sensitive skin deserves a little extra care. Any fragranced product can cause irritation, even with ingredients you’ve used before, so we can’t guarantee that a product will be irritation-free for everyone. Try a small amount on a small area of skin before wider use, and stop using it if irritation occurs. If you have known allergies or a skin condition, review the ingredients with your dermatologist before trying something new. 

A little guidance for wearing and caring for your fragrance:

(Start with a small amount on pulse points, such as your wrists or inner elbows, and add more only if desired. A little perfume oil can go a long way!)

  • Try a small amount on a small area of skin before wider use, especially if your skin is sensitive.
  • Apply only to intact skin. Avoid irritated, broken, or freshly shaved areas.
  • Keep away from eyes, lips, and other sensitive areas. For external use only.
  • Stop using it if redness, itching, burning, or other irritation occurs.
  • Keep the bottle tightly closed and store away from heat and direct sunlight.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
